LA LÉGENDE DU GARDIEN TAWACHICHE
On raconte qu’autrefois, dans les profondeurs des forêts de la Mauricie, un esprit veillait sur les rivières, les montagnes et les voyageurs perdus. C’était le Gardien Tawachiche — un être silencieux, ni tout à fait homme ni tout à fait ombre. Nul ne savait d’où il venait, mais tous sentaient sa présence dans le vent, dans le craquement du bois et dans le regard des bêtes. Les anciens disaient qu’il apparaissait quand l’équilibre du monde vacillait. Qu’il marchait entre la lumière et la nuit, rappelant aux humains la valeur du respect, du silence et de la gratitude envers la terre.

Aujourd’hui encore, son souffle habite la vallée du Tawachiche. Il n’est pas un mythe, mais une mémoire : celle d’un peuple qui savait écouter la forêt. Son esprit veille, discret mais bien vivant, dans chaque flamme, chaque pierre, chaque pas posé entre deux mondes.

He was the Tawachiche Guardian — a silent being, neither fully man nor shadow.

The elders told that he would appear when the balance of the world began to waver.
That he walked between light and night, reminding humankind of respect, silence, and gratitude toward the earth.
Even today, his breath still lives within the Tawachiche Valley.
He is not a myth, but a memory — of a people who knew how to listen to the forest.
His spirit remains, quiet yet alive, in every flame, every stone, every step taken between two worlds.
